Hello Family and Friends!
I want to welcome you back to the dynamic and unpredictable 26th Annual Bowl
Bonanza.   Since you’re back I’m assuming you don’t fear the ups and downs, the close
and bad calls, and general gnashing of teeth called the bowl season,  and that’s just during
the commercial intermission.  But by now most of you have signed the waivers and
understand the consequences of participation.
A big shout out to Mikey, who won in dramatic fashion last year.  If memory serves it
came down to the last game where several folks could have won, but since second place
gets you squat, I won’t even mention those losers.  Speaking of which Gemma took last
place with a full refund…simply a pathetic showing. Do some research girl friend.
Gemma’s first BB, so there’s that. Seriously she was great to take part. and we love you
Gemma. It does however look as though the universe has correctly aligned and the men
picked up the W and the ladies…you know the rest.  This year I’m going to go out on a
limb and say Mark will finally win it all. I know you all think I’m crazy.
This year’s bowls will be broadcast on many channels, sports and major networks.  Heck
ESPN has a bunch on it’s own.  Let’s see we get, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNHD, ESPN2HD,
ESPN Classics (I call “wide right TV”), ESPN News, ESPNU, ESPN Spanish, ESPN
Yiddish and a new one they’re adding called ESPNA, it’s a combination of the food
channel, HDTV and Bravo for you more sensitive types. Andy will probably like that
one.
On the football culture thingy…ever notice all the trendy football names lately. Some are
some real doozies, a combination of letters, foreign languages and symbols.  There’s
hardly John Smith or a Bill Brown in the pack. The name Terrell has been coming up a
lot lately as well.  I think a great football name would be “Terrell Terrell”.  Cool
sounding name, plus it would prevent the inevitable “is that your first or last name”
question; however there might be some difficulty with pronunciation.
Yes, we went to Italy this past March.  We had a great time and spent some time with
cousin Carmine, or as his Italian friends call him “Carmine from America.” Our pictures
revealed a rare photo (above) of the mythical Italian-American Football, which Carmine
shared with us. It’s not round, or oblong like an American Football, but somewhere in
between…and made of solid chocolate, popular around Easter.
Lastly, I want to thank those of you who responded to my request for green peanuts for
boiling earlier this fall.  A real big thanks go out to my all Gator buddies, the only school
represented in my request.  Nary a peep from any UMers, and that was even before we
played the Canes. I simply could not find any green peanuts up here, or anyone who
would admit to knowing what they actually were.  After all, who would spoil a perfectly
good peanut by not roasting it? What’s amatter wich you! I was finally directed to an
Asia market and explained what I sought.  A nice elderly Chinese gentleman that heard
my request shuffled up but curtly responded, ”We NO have, Grasshopper” so that was
that, and it is what it is. Yeah I know, Drew said this was weak…Thanks again
Gators..beat the Sooners!
Speaking of Gators though, I missed the annual battle between my beloved Noles and the
Gators this year.  So instead, I put on one of my favorite tapes called “Choke at Doak”
and really enjoyed it.
Ok lastly, really. Jess made an earlier request for interesting/funny family stories that
she’s compiling.  If you have any she would love to have them, but remember if you
family tree doesn’t fork, never mind.
Seriously folks, thanks again for hanging out.  I hope you enjoy this year’s Bowl
Bonanza, your holidays, and the great family we are blessed to have.  Have fun and good
luck.
Love,
Keith…ah Your BB Administrator
